Unit 5

I thought these two exercises were very different. They did share some similarities such as focusing on breathing. The loving-kindness seemed more like meditation where we tried to focus on our breathing while replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. The subtle mind to me seemed more like an exercise. It is a way to train the mind. Once we get through the three steps and achieve unity consciousness we can achieve pure wisdom and reduce stress.

  1. Hi Kevin,
Good for you for trying the love and kindness and the subtle mind exercise(I read Andrea's post), I honestly wish I commit like you. I feel like I have always put my life on hold, I mean I will do this when my son get older, do that when I finish school, loss weight when I find a job...etc and the tuth is I am lossing precious time. You did the right thing by taking the time for yourself and you did inspire me, so I will seriously try to do it.
    Good luck.

  2. Hi Kevin,

You are so right; once we can be conscious of what is brothering us we can get rid of it and therefore be free of situation. Once the situation is gone wisdom comes in; I noticed that about myself when I did the relaxing exercises. These exercises do train the mind and that really is a good thing to be able to relax so that we can see the full picture and change it. Great post
